Daily Face!

I've decided that I want to start doing daily posts of the make-up I wear each day. I think I decided on this a few weeks back when I decided it was time I started doing new things with my make-up and hair but obviously family trouble stopped me from actually putting on any decent make-up.

But here it is! My first Daily Face post! :)

Here's the list of products I used :)
Face;
Laura Geller Spackle under make-up primer.
Loreal Infallible Lasting Perfection Foundation in Porcelain.
Rimmel London Stay Matte finishing powder.

Eyes;
Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Urban Decay eyeshadows in Foxy (All over lid), Blackout (Winged Liner) and Chopper (Bottom Lash line)
Blink+Go Mascara.

Lips;
Collection 2000 lip liner in Clover Pink.
E.L.F lipstick in Gypsy

I got my Mockingjay Pin from Ebay :)

Effie Trinket inspired nails.

As you guys can probably tell, i've been absent from blogging for a long time. I won't go into detail but I've had a few family troubles, but it's all evening out now and while I've been gone i've actually built up a big bank of nail art pictures to share with you!

The first, as you can tell by the title, are my Effie Trinket inpired nails. I'm still on a Hunger Games kick and ever since I saw the film i've been wanting to re-create the nails she wore during the reaping in District Twelve - so here we go! :D

The base colour is a bright pink that's actually so cheap it doesn't have a name.
The gradient colour is Designer De Better from the OPI Muppets collection

I've also been thinking about starting my own Youtube channel to do nail and make-up videos - would any of you watch/subscribe if I did? :)

OPI Nicki Minaj Collection 'Super Bass' shatter review and swatches.

So, I will be the first to admit that I wasn't really keen on any of the colours in this collection apart from this shatter. I picked this colour up at Duty Free in Birmingham airport on Wednesday before I headed to Poland for the day and I was super excited to be able to get my hands on it!

The shatter itself is a deep purple colour which is something i've never seen before and is one of the more rarer shatters that I own. I really like the colour of it and the quality of shatter is lovely. I honestly think forking out the £10 for this is worth it - yes you may be able to get a similar colour shatter/crackle from Barry M or elsewhere, but honestly, I loved the finish of this crackle - it wasn't matte at all and it had just the right amount of shimmer in it.

Such a lovely colour and well worth the money! Also, if you were wondering, the base colour is Rimmel London 'Your Majesty' :)

The Hunger Games 'Girl on Fire' Katniss Everdeen inspired nails!

I recently took one of the big steps to becoming a beauty blogger by purchasing my first entire nail polish collection. The collection of choice? The new China Glaze 'Capitol Colours' collection, inspired by The Hunger Games!

I've been completely obsessed with The Hunger Games for about a year now. I read all three books in just over a week and I'm really excited for the film! (I'm going to an advanced screening with a friend which is hella exciting!)

For this look I decided to take inspiration from the book and create my own 'Girl on Fire' nails, inspired by the nail art that Katniss wears for her tribute interview before the Games. I managed to create this look with three polish's all from the 'Capitol Colours' collection - I used 'Smoke and Ashes' for the entire nail base coat, then I mapped out the shape of the flames with 'Riveting' then I added a bit of sparkle using 'Electrify'.

I love this nail art look, it's one of my favourites!

Modern Arabic Eyes!

My first make-up look on this blog goes to a recent creation of a modern day arabic eye! Unfortunately I didn't wear this out so I can'r report on what other people thought, but I really loved it :)

The products I used were;

E.L.F Mineral infused face primer.
L'oreal Infallible lasting perfection foundation in Porcelain.
Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer in Fair.
Rimmel London Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent.
Pink blusher from Primark's happy couple bronzer and blusher duo.
Virgin and Sin from the Urban Decay Naked Palette as highlight.

Eyes;
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original.
An unnamed shimmery silver colour over the lid.
Urban Decay Gunmetal eyeshadow on the outer third of the lid.
M.A.C Carbon in the outer corner and into the crease.
Maybeline 24 hour lasting gel eyeliner.
An unnamed white eyeshadow between both eyeliner flicks.
Blink + Go long lasting black mascara.

Lips;
A baby pink eyeshadow from a 98 Ebay eyeshadow palette.
Avon tinted lipbalm in Pink.

I think I need to start practicing more for make-up photographing! I need to learn my angles!

What do you guys think of this look? Would you rock it?

Galaxy Nails!

My second attempt at the famous galaxy nails and I think I may have been successful this time! I'm really happy with how they came out and these nails got a ton of compliments from people at college!

To get this look I used a base of American Aparrel 'Hassid' then sponged on two Nails Inc. colours, a mint green and bright pink, (I'll admit that I can't find the bottles so I don't know the names of them), and then finished off with two coats of a multi-sized glitter and then Seche Vite top coat!

What's your verdict on Galaxy nail? Love it or leave it?

Urban Decay 'The Dangerous Palette' - review and swatches.

Urban Decay is probably my favourite make-up brand at the moment. I received this palette from a family member for Christmas, but that doesn't alter my thoughts on the palette. The palette includes 6 eye shadows, a 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Rockstar and a sample size Primer Potion in Greed. First of all, here are a few pictures of the colours in the palette :)

From left to right, top to bottom; Haight, Mildew, Virgin, Oil Slick, Rockstar and Gun Metal.

These are what the colours look like without a primer. The colours are still visible but you'll see when I show you the photo's with primer, that they are much brighter and more like they appear in the palette.

Here they are over the top of the original Primer Potion. I love the way these colours stand out and I love the fact that with these colours you could make an unlimited amount of eye looks! You could even pull some really great neutral looks from these colours. I think my favourite colours would have to be Mildew, just because it's a gorgeous olive green colour and I don't think I've ever owned anything quite like it before. I also love Virgin because it's a great all-over lid colour as well as a great highlight!

The palette also comes with a 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in the shade Rockstar which is a beautiful aubergine purple colour, which you can see below;
I really like this colour and I really like the fact that it's the same shade as one of the more darker colours in the palette. I find it really hard to pull of purple eye-liner, but I wore this on Boxing Day with the shadow over the top and it actually went really well with my eye colour.

The last feature of the palette is the Primer Potion. It comes in the colour Greed which is a gorgeous gold simmer colour which is perfect for me because I wear gold on my eyes all the time - now I can have that extra added 'pop' to the colour with this primer! :) Here's a swatch of it below;
Overall, I really like this palette, it's got a brilliant range of colours and a really nice primer and eye-liner to go along with it. It's also in a really convenient sized palette which makes it great for travel or could even fit in your bag for touch-up throughout the day/night if needed :) Once again, Urban Decay have pleased!
